WHY BYGGING JACKING SYSTEM

  • SAFETY FIRST
Most work is done at ground level reducing risks of accidents. This is the safest and most preferred method for storage tank construction, discarding the need for a tall boom crane.
  • NO SCAFFOLDING REQUIRED
The jacking system dispenses with elaborate scaffolding requirements required to provide access for welding at heights, since now all welding is done at ground level.
  • WELDING AT GROUND LEVEL
Since welding is done at ground level and not at heights, better quality is ensured and risk of accidents is “LOW”
  • LESSER MANPOWER
Work at ground level increases productivity thereby reducing the number of manpower required.
  • EASIER INSPECTION
Welding inspectors can now conduct ultrasonic or other non-destructive tests on welds at ground level, facilitating ease of inspection and hence better quality control. No more climbing up to precarious positions for welding inspectors !
  • FASTER ERECTION
New shell plates are to be erected ground level instead of being hauled up to about 30 heights or more saving precious construction time for alignment of plates. All time required lifting of men and material to heights is eliminated. Construction work is practically unaffected by or snow, since most work is done under the of the tank itself.
  • JACKING SYSTEM USED THE WORLD OVER
USA, Latin America, South America, Europe, CIS, Africa, Middle–East, Australia, Asia ….. Storage tanks have been erected in practically every part of the world using Hydraulic jacking system.

Along with this the top downwards tank erection considerably cuts construction time and cost. As most work is done at the ground level permitting faster erection times along with reducing the risk of accidents. Requiring no crane, the process needs lesser manpower, saving money, time, and efforts.

Projects Finished

All our efforts are concentrated towards accomplishment of projects with perfection and finesse. Over the years, we have successfully fulfilled various projects across different parts of the world.

Versatility of Our Range

Following are the factors that make our range stand apart from that of our competitors':

  • The jacking equipment is supplied with singe jack lifting capacities of:
                         8 tons
                        12 tons
                        25 tons
  • The standard jacking equipment can be used for minimum shell plates of width (height) of 1400 mm and maximum of 2500 mm
  • For shell plates of more than 2500 width (height), jacking equipment can be supplied as per clients' specific requirements
  • Storage tanks with different types of roof (floating roof, fixed roof, suspended deck roof, and column supported roof)
  • Gasholder tanks
  • Horton spheres or spherical tanks for storage of propane, ammonia in gaseous form
  • Cryogenic tanks for storage of propane, ammonia at cryogenic temperatures
  • Smallest diameter of tank erected using jacking equipment: 6 mtrs
  • Largest diameter of tank erected using jacking equipment: 92 mtrs
  • Maximum weight of tank erected using jacking equipment: 1900 tons

These are the minimum and maximum dimensions or parameters of some tanks that have already been erected by us. However, these are not limiting figures and tanks with other dimensions can also be erected, in tandem with the clients' requirements.

Safe & Secure

Clients can avail from us our jacking system, which is probably the safest way to erect or lift tanks. Our fail-safe device is equipped with many arrangements to ensure innocuous operations, such as:

  • In case of hydraulic seal, the mechanical grip jaws prevent the jack from moving downwards and will hold the jack at the same position on the trestle rod
  • In case of a hose rupture during lifting, the jacks do not slip downwards with the load. If the hose bursts, lifting should be stopped and the hose must be replaced
  • Prior to dispatch, each jack is load tested at 1.5 times its rated capacity and kept under load for 3 to 5 minutes. On customer request, the load test can be witnessed by a Third Party Inspection agency like Bureau Veritas, SGS, Germanischer Lloyd or others
  • Each jack has two pairs of case hardened grip jaws made of special grade of steel. At any given point of time, either one of the pairs is engaged or locked. During lifting both the pairs are in "locked" position and in this position, the jack can move only upwards

Though there are in-built safety measures, certain precautionary measures need to taken while operation. Remove any unsuitable material and replace with suitable fill, then thoroughly compact fill inside the concrete ring or crushed stone ringwall, and lay a layer of minimum 75 mm thick compacted, clean sand above the fill. The bearing pressure below the trestle base plate, above the tank bottom plate, shall be minimum 1.45 N/mm2, else the trestle base plate surface area shall be made larger.

Additionally, there are various precautionary measures that can be taken with respect to the tank foundation, such as:

  • On customer request, the stability of tank under jacking is checked by design calculation done by considering the diameter, height, weight, and number of jacks used. The maximum safe wind speed at which it is safe to jack up a tank is determined using these calculations.
  • During lifting of a tank using jacks, an oil cushion is formed since all jacks are connected to each other hydraulically; thereby, no single jack is subject to excessive load
  • In the event of uneven lifting, which at any time can only be to the maximum extent of the stroke length of the jack, which is 100 mm, individual jacks can be shut off. This is done using a stop cock valve by making appropriate adjustments during lifting
  • On specific request, motors, and starters for powerpack are supplied with "CE" mark

Before selecting the type and number of jacks for any tank project, or before operating the jacking equipment, read our safety instructions and understand the information contained therein.

Technical Support

We have a team of experts that offer proper guidance and support to clients

  • On-site support

A specialist can be deployed on-site to train clients' site personnel in the commissioning and use of the Hydraulic Jacking Equipment

  • Stability calculations

On customer request, the stability of tank under jacking is checked by design calculation considering the diameter, height, weight, and number of jacks used. Based on the calculations, the maximum safe wind speed at which it is harmless to jack up a tank is determined

  • Operation manual

A video demonstration showing step-by-step setup procedure is available on our website and operating instructions for the jacking equipment is supplied along with the equipement.

  • Drawing showing hose connection details

On customer request, we provide drawing showing hose connection for a specific tank. A sample drawing for a tank is available for reference on this site

  • Oil selection

We suggest our clients appropriate grade and type of hydraulic oil to be used for the jacks depending on the ambient temperature

  • Different voltages and frequency of electric supply for different countries

Motors with different voltages and frequency can be supplied to suit the power supply available in the customers’ project location

  • Spares sent at short notice

The basic spares can be ordered along with the jacking equipment. By and large, additional spares are seldom required, however, in case need arises these can be promptly dispatched by courier to any part of the world at short notice

Advantages gained by using our product

The Hydraulic Jacking Equipment manufactured by us is sought-after by clients owing to the various advantages offered it. Following are some of the benefits offered by our jacking equipment:

  • Safety first: since most of the work is done at ground level reducing risks of accidents. This is the safest and most preferred method for storage tank construction, eliminating the need for a tall boom crane
