Spotting the need of tank builders to use automatic girth welding machines from both tank outside and inside, Bygging introduced "Retractable" type jacking equipment which enables the use of automatic girth welding machines for inside welding as well. This product has been very well accepted by tank builders across the world.

After external welding of horizontal joints is completed or after the horizontal joint fit-up is done, the load can be release from jacks, and the trestles are swiftly retracted hydraulically. This allows for the movement of girth welding machines on the inside face of the tank shell.

This variant helps reduce considerable manpower and time in the shell erection process.
